Ruah Ministries is a Christ centered ministry devoted to helping individuals and families discover hope, healing, and purpose through faith, encouragement, and practical support.
Faith, Family & A Heart for People
Our Journey
God placed a vision on our hearts to create a nonprofit ministry dedicated to supporting families, teens, and young adults experiencing hardship, housing instability, and life transitions within Madison County, Indiana. During this season, we gathered a founding board and began laying the foundation for Ruah Ministries.
2021, The Vision Began
We continued developing the ministry through research, community outreach, and strategic planning while learning from organizations already serving our local community.
During this time, we also became adoption licensed with the State of Indiana and provided support to a teen aging out of the Department of Child Services.
2022, Building the Foundation
we adopted a an aged out adult, fostered an emergency teen placement, assisted two young adult with housing, financial training and assisted 10 couples in relationship coaching. And four individuals to taking steps toward owning a car for the first time.
2022–2025, A Season of Preparation
As we make the steps to continue to build, partner, and network in the community towards bringing the space between emergency housing to short term to long term housing for young adults and families of Madison County
2025 Rebuilding & Expanding
Development of Ruah Ministries paused temporarily while we focused on additional responsibilities, continued learning, and preparation for the future growth of the ministry.
Even during this period, the vision and calling behind the organization remained strong.
2026 – Present Continuing the Mission
Michael and Rachel Ferguson.
We are a blessed family of 6 kids, two adopted as adults, two grandkids. We have worked in the corporate world, started businesses, moved toward full financial freedom following the steps laid out by Ramsey solutions, and passionately seek to share Jesus.
We enjoy sharing Jesus during our walks through our small town in which we live, online through media messages and devotionals, or wherever travel takes us with work and family. Christ is the center and foundation of our marriage, our family discussions, and our work conversations.
Michael lives with the passion of Philippians 1:20-21.
He holds a Master’s in Biblical Exposition with over 20 year’s experience in management in the Pharmaceutical industry. He has served as worship Paster and interim Paster over the years.Today he pastors as the lead speaker of The Gathering-Anderson church.
Rachel lives with the passion of Acts 20:22-24.
She holds a Master’s of Physical Therapy and has been practicing for over 25 years, coaching people through physical ailments. She also coaches people in nutrition, wellness and financial solutions for home and business. She is the founder/owner of Wholistic Wellness Services and serves alongside Michael in pastoring and sheparding those who come to The Gathering-Anderson church..

God of the Bible is the same yesterday, today and forever.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called by the Great Commission: Matthew 26: 16-18 to Go and make disciples.
We are all involved in a spiritual battle against evil powers of this world. Eph 6:10
The gifts of the spirit are alive and available to all, just as much today as in biblical time:
John 14:12-14, Romans 8:11, 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10.
Vision
We are passionate about helping others find their God given purpose in Jesus Christ and walking alongside them as they build a real and relevant relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that wherever you are in life that God designed you on purpose for a purpose! Our goal is to walk with people, helping them move from where they are toward their greatest potential in the life they have been given. We want to help you become that person that God created you to be. We hope that whether it’s opening up our home, inviting people into Wholistic, meeting people while on travel, or through sharing online we can spread the Hope and Light that has been given to us from the love of Jesus Christ.
If you never felt open to a relationship building experience with Jesus Christ, we hope to introduce you to Him. The Love offered by Jesus Christ is available and attainable to all! For some this will be the start in your relationship with Jesus and we look forward to celebrating you, as you receive salvation through His grace and mercy. We are fueled by our faith, forged in fire, filled with the Spirit and freed by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
